Leaves – Plein Air Painting is the view of my backyard on a delightful summer afternoon. Painted 99.9% without looking was the only way to capture every leaf as it is. The medium for this painting is chalk pastel, used to bring out the glow of the scenery. A thin sheet of slightly blue – gray sky brought a soft and soothing light that inspired me. The lighting and the angle of the sun depicts every leaf distinctly, which makes the leaves appear to be floating. Plentiful moisture during the winter and spring soothed the land with greenery everywhere. It was beautiful and I haven’t seen the leaves nor the sky to be presented like this ever since.
